The intimacy of this tiny box theater works well to draw the audience in. It is like being a neighbor with the wall removed. If you can snag a ticket to this show...DO SO! Cheers!

AMERICAN BUFFALO

"When it comes to plays about capitalism, American Buffalo is, shall we say, the coin of the realm. And the production of this 50-year-old gem, now at None Too Fragile theater in Akron, gleams like the mint-condition, rare nickel referenced in the title...once again he (director Derry) fashions a play that crawls under your skin and stays there...There are many reasons to attend shows at None Too Fragile...But the headiest part of the experience is when their team is hitting on all cylinders. And American Buffalo is a prime example of NTF at its best."

No doubt about it. This is a nasty play full of nasty people that you will find absolutely despicable and devoid of any humanly redeemable qualities. For those of you that love this “in your face” kind of theater it is right up your alley. If you are more of a delicate bent you might want to pass on this production. It is your choice.

"There may be nothing worse than bad live theater, but there is also nothing better than great live theater. You have no doubt experienced the former. Should you care to sample the latter, it awaits in True West at None Too Fragile Theater for a short while."

None Too Fragile continues to offer some of the best, most thought-provoking theater around with the David Mamet drama "Oleanna" at its tiny Akron venue.

This two-person show, written by Mamet in 1992, is just as topical as ever today as it explores the power struggle between university professor John and female student Carol.

The Weir @ None Too Fragile

Irish playwright Conor McPherson's "The Weir" at None Too Fragile Theatre is a haunting drama, not primarily for its ghost stories but more for its characters' anecdotes of loss and regret.

Director Sean Derry has put together a winning cast of fine actors to play the four Irish men and one woman who pass time in a small, rural Irish pub. As the beer and whiskey flow, we're privy to their banter, peevishness, one-upmanship, antics and underlying sense of loneliness as the five gather for one evening for some warmth, companionship and comfort.

If your looking for a delightful “slice of Irish life” play in order to escape the troubles of the world you can do no better than this currently staged production. There is humor, sadness, melancholy, fiestyness, friendship, love and caring much like you would find on the Emerald Isle. Ná tuitfidh an díon os bhur gcionn go brách 'S nach dtitfeadh na cairde atá bailithe thíos ann go brách (May the roof above you never fall in. And may the friends gathered below it never fall out).
